Record Month for Arkoni

Record Month for Arkoni

Posted 8th July 2016

The firm, which specialises in fire-rated glazing systems and architectural metalwork, picked up a number of contracts in June amounting to just short of £2 million including a £1.4 million contract for a large commercial development in Reading.

June’s order book eclipses Arkoni’s previous best month in July 2014 by almost £400,000.

Arkoni founder and MD Mark Prentice commented: “Despite the uncertainty and chaos caused by ‘Brexit’ and the recent downturn in construction it appears we are bucking the trend.

“We have picked up the contract for the second phase of works at Forbury Place in Reading where we will be repeating our contract for phase one that involved the installation of what is believed to be the largest butt-jointed, fire-rated glazed atrium in Europe over eight floors.

“In addition we have won a £200,000 contract for door sets and glazing at the Royal Academy of Arts in Central London and a £80,000 project at St Fagan’s Museum in Cardiff.

“We still have a lot more work in the pipeline including a potential £3.5 million school project. It appears that 2016-17 could be our best year of trading yet,” added Mark whose firm employs 60.
